Baret Scholars is a prestigious global gap-year program for outstanding high school graduates, co-founded by Chris Whittle and the late Benno Schmidt. The program offers students the chance to explore seven different regions worldwide, combining structured learning with independent exploration. Participants engage with local experts, pursue personal projects, and receive guidance from dedicated Fellows. The program emphasizes cultural immersion, personal growth, and preparation for future academic and professional endeavors, admitting only 180 students globally each year.

Notes:
The application process consists of four rounds. The first round deadline is November 20, 2024, with subsequent rounds following. Selected students receive financial aid based on need and merit. In addition to tuition assistance, scholars participate in leadership development programs and community service projects. Applicants are expected to have a demonstrated interest in public service and civic engagement.
